Summary:

IMail Secure Server 2006.03 is primarily about improved performance and stability in web messaging and the core engine under heavy message loads.  In addition, we have fixed a lot of reported defects including one vulnerability issue.

• Queue Manager now handles more messages and larger log files and uses less CPU time
• Web Messaging loads, sorts and switches mailboxes faster
• POP and IMAP services use less CPU time when deleting messages

Performance Improvements

• Queue Manager: Added spool directory performance enhancements when reading large numbers of queued messages.
• Queue Manager: Added performance logging enhancements to better handle large amounts of logging data.
• Queue Manager: Added performance enhancements to reduce high CPU utilization.
• Web Mail: Added performance enhancements to improve mail box loading response times.
• Web Mail: Added performance enhancements to improve message sorting response times.
• Web Mail: Added performance enhancements to improve response times when switching between mailboxes.
• POP3: Improved performance issue when POP3 deletes messages so that it uses fewer CPU resources.
• IMAP: Improved performance issue when IMAP deletes messages so that it uses fewer CPU resources.

New Functionality

• Web Mail: Added ability for users on IP-less Virtual Domains to login using only their userid without the domain portion.
• Web Mail: Added ability to customize header on home.asp page.
• Web Mail: Made the Inbox the default mailbox in the list box for the auto responder.
• Web Mail: Added ability to Print one message at a time from Web Mail.
• Install: Added ability to allow user to change the Web site location of the Web clients within IIS during a reinstall or repair.
• Web Admin: Added the ability to include one or more periods (.) in the Alias name.
• Web Admin: Added regcheck.exe utility to troubleshoot registry conflicts during upgrades and repairs. For detailed information, see Installing/Upgrading/Repairs.
• IMMSGEXP: Provides a syntax error if the "M" is accidentally left out of -M variable

Fixes

• IMAP: Corrected a vulnerability issue where a properly crafted Fetch command causes IMAP to crash with a buffer overflow (disclosed by TippingPoint, a division of 3Com).
• Web Admin: Fixed defect where running the convert utility on the aliases.txt file doesn't add the contacts in correctly.
• Web Mail: Fixed defect where nothing is displayed in the TO: column of the Sent folder if the friendly name is not set (i.e.,"").
• Web Mail: Fixed defect where Web Mail returns a session state exception when accessed from the network.
• Web Mail: Fixed defect which causes the worker process group to become unresponsive.
• Web Mail: Fixed defect where certain message type causes everyone logged into Iclient to bounce back to login screen on next click.
• Web Mail: Fixed defect where inline attachments within messages aren't always displayed.
• Web Mail: Fixed defect where the web.config file was missing culture information (language issue).
• Web Mail: Fixed defect where the attachment flag is shown for multipart/related email in the message list.

• Web Admin: Fixed defect where standard alias is getting corrupted with more than four entries.
• Web Admin: Fixed defect where 'Web Admin' link in the Web Mail does not maintain a secure connection.

• Web Admin: Fixed defect where adding an Outbound rule is saving 'Delete' action as NULL.
• AntiSpam: Fixed defect where Enable Content Filtering for Authenticated Users where authenticated messages aren't being scanned by Content Filtering.
